• Live in Western Australia.
• Need healthy lifestyle support to prevent or manage a newly diagnosed health condition.

Getting started is as simple as registering your details on the sign up page, or if you’d prefer, you can call and speak with us directly on 1300 822 953.
You do not need a referral from a GP or health professional to join and there are no waitlists.
Once you have registered online, the Better Health team will be in touch to get you started. This service has been designed to fit in with your everyday routine. Coaching appointments are available from 9am until 9pm Australian Western Standard Time (AWST).
What to expect after you sign up
Your first appointment
While participating in the program, you will have up to 10 oneon-one appointments with your health coach. These will be phone calls and are usually 30 minutes long.
During your first phone appointment, you’ll spend time talking with your health coach about how the Better Health Coaching Service works and what your health and wellbeing goals are right now. Your coach will also find out more about you, including:
- The food you usually eat and how much exercise you do.
- Your usual sleep routine and stress levels.
- Whether you smoke or drink alcohol regularly.
- Any medical conditions you may have and any medications you take.
Your follow-up appointments
In your follow-up appointments, you and your coach will:
- Work together to set health goals you want to work on.
- Talk about ways to achieve those goals.
Your 10th appointment with your coach will be your final call in the Better Health Coaching Service. During this appointment, your coach will:
- Reflect on the health changes you’ve made since starting the program.
- Discuss the support you might need after the program ends to maintain your healthy habits.

Better Health Coaching for
Aboriginal people
If you identify as Aboriginal Australian, this health coaching program is for you. We understand and respect the unique cultural needs of Aboriginal people, and make sure the health coaching program is tailored to you.
After you sign up, an Aboriginal team member will give you a call for a yarn and talk about how we can support you to reach your health goals.
We will send you helpful wellbeing tools in the mail and give you access to health fact sheets specific to Aboriginal communities.

FAQ
When you join, you get access to up to 10 x 30 minutes appointments with a health coach. These appointments are done over the phone. You have the option of speaking to your coach weekly or fortnightly over 6 months.
Together you’ll set some achievable goals to work on throughout the program, and your coach will support you with making plans to achieve those goals.
Once you’ve signed up, one of our friendly team members will contact you to confirm your registration and book your first coaching appointment.

The Better Health Coaching Services is FREE for eligible adults living in Western Australia.
You can join the Better Health Coaching Service at any time, and you’ll be able to get started right away. No waitlists! After signing up, our friendly intake team will give you a call to book in your first coaching appointment, which can usually be scheduled within the week.
As part of the Better Health Coaching Service you’ll have up to 10 x 30 minute phone-based appointments with a health coach over 6 months.
These can be scheduled at a time that suits you between 9am and 9pm, Monday to Friday Australian Western Standard Time (AWST).
Outside of the calls, you might like to allocate some specific time each week to work on your goals – your coach will help you to work out how to best fit this into your day-to-day life.
The health coach appointments are an opportunity to speak with a health expert about your health and wellbeing. During the coaching calls, you and your coach will set some health goals that you want to work on, and talk about the sorts of things you can do to achieve them. Your coach will guide you on how to navigate any barriers or problems that come up along the way.

Our health coaches are university qualified health professionals with backgrounds in nutrition / dietetics, exercise science, psychology or nursing. They are trained in chronic disease management and experienced with supporting healthy behaviour change. Typically, you’ll have the same health coach who will support you right throughout the program.
We know that life happens so if you cannot make your designated coaching appointment time, please give our team a call at least 24 hours in advance and we’ll be able to reschedule your appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice cannot be rescheduled.
We will ask you to answer a series of questionnaires before and after the program. This information helps us to understand your medical history and usual health habits, and deidentified data is also used to evaluate the success of the service. All data collected is stored securely in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (2014).
